Secret Place

Luke 21:37,38 Each day Jesus was teaching at the temple, and each evening he went out to spend the night on the hill called the Mount of Olives, and all the people came early in the morning to hear him at the temple.

Everyone needs to have a “secret” place. A place where you can go and rest. A place where you can be alone with God and be yourself. Jesus had a secret place at the Mount of Olives. He went there many times and refreshed Himself.

In life we have many demands placed us on. Whether it is home, work, ministry, the needs of other people, we are surrounded by things that get our energy. Physically and emotionally we need to be recharged by God. In my own life I find that I am more drained when I have spent less time with God, even if I have not given much, because I don’t have much to give.
I love being with God and in His word, it’s like a good time with family. If you know me, you know I love having all my kids over. I don’t ever get tired of the sound of the guitar, Madden, light sabers, basketball (in the house, I miss that hoop), cooking, laundry, the shower going all at the same time. Not to mention, every room and hallway with someone sleeping in it and “catching Him” until 2am. It is my biggest joy. Getting alone with God gives me that same great feeling of security and peace. I highly recommend it.

Lord, I thank you for my secret place where I can just me and You can share Your vision for my life. I am recharged and getting to go. Amen
